A young woman, Gao Mengyu, is confronted with her sudden death and falls into psychological and spiritual despair. Upon learning of her death sentence, she begins to explore whether there is an afterlife, and whether she will be punished after death for the mistakes she made in this life. One by one, she picks apart moments from her life that weigh on her soul and, after a torturous inner struggle, finally gains enlightenment.
