The film draws inspiration from an art project by Fernanda Padilha, created during the pandemic. During her period in isolation, Fernanda invited people to submit pictures of their hands along with descriptions of what their hands could do. A diverse range of responses and images were received: , encompassing both the ordinary and mundane, as well as specific and self-centered descriptions. There were also selfless individuals who shared stories about helping others. These genuine and vulnerable responses became the basis for a manifesto that gives voice to the movie’s narration.
